Earning Criteria

Safely and properly use cutting tool assembly, select tools, and prepare materials. Execute setup including configuration (LOC/EOH) fitting, holder/cutter applications, and cutter features/attributes. Effectively inspect cutters/holders, align vise/fixture, establish XY Zero from a hole/two surfaces. Demonstrate tramming, verification with/out size verification, hole gaging, and verification of parallelism, perpendicularity, position at MMC, surface finish and thread gaging.

Effectively process plan, including: machine configuration, selection, operation sequencing, and work-holding concepts/devises and material prep including bar stock sizes, cutting blanks and deburring. Effectively use machining applications/operations: drilling face/peripheral/plunge/slot milling, reaming, deburring and part loading.
