Earning Criteria

Use various hand and bench tools: bench grinder, hacksaw, punch, clamps, wrenches, hammers, pliers, bandsaw, hand reamer, hand drill, cutter, bushing and fasteners installation, etc. Apply correct filing techniques with proper selection and type of file while maintaining the equipment. Demonstrate ability to interpret block tolerances, line types/conventions, orthographic projection, surface finish requirements, and title blocks/revisions.

Use precision/semi-precision layout, scribing, fluid, surface, height gage, and math calculations to locate/mark the material w/visual references to optimize the number of parts made from bar stock sizes, cutting blanks and material. Demonstrate inspection utilizing with/without feature size, position/surface/finish verification, hole and thread gaging.
