This program targets strategies for reducing downtime, waste, and safety incidents in order to increase sustainable engineering in industrial processes. Earners of this badge can: (1) identify real life industrial sustainability problems; (2) describe strategies for acting on these environmental challenges; (3) compare sustainable & non-sustainable industrial engineering practices; & (4) apply the Problem, Solution, Benefit process to industrial engineering sustainability case studies.

Participate actively in a live, interactive workshop (~4 hours in total) facilitated by KCF Technologies Co-Founder CEO Jeremy Frank PhD; Senior Manager, Talent Development Katie Purcell MPS; and Learning & Development Specialist Sara Sara Caracappa MEd. (https://kcftech.com/)

Actively participate in defining sustainable and non-sustainable practices; estimating impact of change at scale compared to individual change; and discussing the real world environmental and economic impacts of practices like driving electric cars, using metal straws, flaring natural gas, and making equipment like water pumps more efficient.

Successfully complete (80% or higher) an assessment measuring foundational knowledge of sustainable industrial engineering.
